Dental Implants

8 Questions
What implant brands do you use?

We use premium, internationally certified implant systems from trusted brands. All our implants are FDA-approved and backed by extensive clinical research. Dr. Apurva will recommend the best implant brand for your specific case during your free implant assessment.

How long is the implant process?

The complete implant process typically takes 3–6 months, depending on bone quality and healing. This includes implant placement, osseointegration (healing), abutment placement, and crown fitting. All-on-4 procedures may be faster. Dr. Apurva will give you a personalized timeline during your consultation.

Is implant surgery painful?

No. Implant surgery is performed under local anesthesia, so you won’t feel pain during the procedure. Most patients report only mild discomfort for 1–2 days after, easily managed with prescribed medication. Our painless dentistry protocol ensures maximum comfort throughout.

What if I don’t have enough bone?

Insufficient bone doesn’t mean you can’t get implants. We offer bone grafting and sinus lift procedures to rebuild jawbone. All-on-4 implants use tilted placement requiring less bone. Dr. Apurva will evaluate your bone density during the free assessment and recommend the best approach.

Can smokers get implants?

Yes, but smoking increases the risk of implant failure by reducing blood flow and healing. We recommend quitting or reducing smoking at least 2 weeks before and 8 weeks after surgery. Heavy smokers may need additional bone grafting for successful osseointegration.

How long do implants last?

With proper care, dental implants can last 20+ years — often a lifetime. The titanium implant itself is permanent. The crown on top may need replacement after 10–15 years due to normal wear. Regular checkups and good hygiene extend implant life significantly.

What is All-on-4?

All-on-4 is a technique where a full arch of teeth is supported by just 4 implants — two straight in the front and two tilted in the back. This maximizes available bone, often avoids bone grafting, and can provide fixed teeth faster than traditional methods. Ideal for patients missing all teeth in an arch.

Can I get same-day implants?

In some cases, yes — this is called immediate implant placement. It depends on the condition of the extraction site, bone quality, and absence of infection. Dr. Apurva will determine if you’re a candidate for same-day implants during your consultation. Not all cases qualify for this approach.

Root Canal Treatment

8 Questions
When is RCT needed?

Root canal treatment is needed when the pulp (inner soft tissue) of a tooth becomes infected or inflamed due to deep decay, repeated dental procedures, cracked tooth, or trauma. Symptoms include severe toothache, prolonged sensitivity, discoloration, and swelling. If you experience these, see us promptly.

Can RCT be done in one sitting?

Yes! Dr. Priyanka specializes in single-sitting root canal treatment using advanced rotary endodontics and magnification. Most cases can be completed in one visit (45–90 minutes). Complex cases with severe infection may require 2 visits. We’ll assess and advise the best approach for your tooth.

Is RCT painful?

No. Root canal treatment is performed under local anesthesia, making it virtually painless. In fact, RCT relieves the severe pain caused by infection. Most patients feel immediate relief after the procedure. Mild sensitivity for 1–2 days is normal and manageable with over-the-counter medication.

How long does a treated tooth last?

A properly treated root canal tooth can last a lifetime with good oral hygiene and a protective crown. The tooth is technically non-vital (no nerve), but the structure remains functional. Regular checkups and avoiding excessive force (like biting hard objects) help extend the tooth’s life.

Do I need a crown after RCT?

Yes, in most cases a crown is recommended after root canal treatment. RCT makes the tooth more brittle and prone to fracture. A crown protects the tooth, restores its function, and prevents breakage. For front teeth with minimal damage, a filling may sometimes suffice. Dr. Priyanka will advise what’s best for your case.

Can RCT fail?

Root canal treatment has a 95%+ success rate when performed by specialists. However, failures can occur due to complex root anatomy, hidden canals, delayed crown placement, or re-infection. If RCT fails, retreatment or apicoectomy (surgical endodontics) can save the tooth. Dr. Priyanka’s MDS specialization minimizes failure risk.

How much does RCT cost?

Root canal treatment at The Crown starts from ₹8,000 per tooth, depending on the tooth (front vs. molar) and complexity. This includes the RCT procedure. Crown cost is separate. View full pricing or check EMI options for affordable payment plans.

What’s the alternative to RCT?

The only alternative to root canal treatment is tooth extraction. However, we always recommend saving your natural tooth whenever possible — RCT preserves the tooth structure and is more cost-effective long-term than extraction followed by implant or bridge. Removing a tooth creates a gap that needs replacement, which costs more and takes longer.

Smile Makeover

6 Questions
How long does a smile makeover take?

The duration depends on the procedures involved. A simple smile makeover with veneers can take 2–3 visits over 2–3 weeks. A comprehensive makeover combining implants, orthodontics, and cosmetic work may take several months. Learn more about smile makeovers.

How much does a smile makeover cost?

Cost varies widely based on the procedures included. A basic makeover (whitening + bonding) may start from ₹15,000. A comprehensive makeover with veneers and implants can range from ₹50,000 to ₹2,50,000+. View pricing and EMI options starting from ₹2,000/month.

Can I preview results before treatment?

Yes! We offer digital smile design that lets you preview your new smile before any treatment begins. Dr. Priyanka creates a digital mockup based on your facial structure, showing you the expected outcome. This ensures you’re happy with the planned result before committing.

Are veneers permanent?

Porcelain veneers are considered a permanent treatment because a thin layer of enamel is removed during preparation. Once placed, they typically last 10–15 years before needing replacement. Composite veneers are less permanent and can be replaced more easily.

How long do veneers last?

Porcelain veneers last 10–15 years with proper care. Composite veneers last 5–7 years. Avoid biting hard objects, limit staining foods, and maintain good oral hygiene to extend veneer life. Regular polishing keeps them looking new.

Does a smile makeover hurt?

Most smile makeover procedures are painless. Teeth whitening may cause mild sensitivity. Veneer preparation uses local anesthesia. Bonding and contouring typically need no anesthesia. Our painless dentistry protocol ensures comfort throughout all procedures.

Cosmetic Dentistry

6 Questions
Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes. Professional teeth whitening at The Crown uses safe, clinical-grade whitening gel that does not damage enamel. Some patients experience temporary sensitivity for 24–48 hours, which resolves on its own. Our formula is designed to be gentle yet effective. Learn more about cosmetic dentistry.

How long does teeth whitening last?

Professional teeth whitening typically lasts 1–3 years, depending on your lifestyle. Avoiding staining foods (coffee, tea, red wine, smoking) extends results. Regular touch-up treatments and good oral hygiene help maintain your brighter shade longer.

What are veneers?

Veneers are ultra-thin custom shells bonded to the front of teeth to improve color, shape, size, and alignment. Porcelain veneers are durable (10–15 years) and stain-resistant. Composite veneers are less expensive and completed in one visit but last 5–7 years.

Are composite veneers as good as porcelain?

Composite veneers are an excellent option for many patients — less expensive, completed in one visit, and require no tooth reduction. However, porcelain veneers are more durable (10–15 years vs. 5–7 years), more stain-resistant, and more translucent. The best choice depends on your budget and goals.

Can composite bonding stain?

Yes, composite bonding can stain over time, especially from coffee, tea, red wine, and smoking. To maintain bonding, avoid staining foods for 48 hours after placement and practice good oral hygiene. Bonding can be polished every 1–2 years to restore its appearance.

How do I maintain cosmetic dental work?

Maintain cosmetic work with regular brushing (non-abrasive toothpaste), daily flossing, and 6-monthly professional cleanings. Avoid biting hard objects, limit staining foods, and wear a night guard if you grind teeth. Following these tips extends the life of your cosmetic investment significantly.

Pediatric Dentistry

6 Questions
When should a child first visit the dentist?

The Indian Dental Association recommends a child’s first dental visit by age 1 or within 6 months of the first tooth appearing. This early visit helps establish a dental home, allows us to check development, and gets the child comfortable with the dentist. Learn more about pediatric dentistry.

How often should kids see the dentist?

Children should visit the dentist every 6 months for routine checkups and cleanings. Regular visits help catch problems early, apply preventive treatments like fluoride and sealants, and build a positive relationship with dental care from a young age.

Are baby teeth important?

Yes, absolutely. Baby teeth are important for proper chewing, speech development, and guiding permanent teeth into position. Premature loss of baby teeth can cause alignment problems and space issues. Keeping baby teeth healthy is essential for proper development.

Is fluoride safe for children?

Yes, fluoride is safe and beneficial when used in appropriate amounts. Professional fluoride application at the dentist strengthens enamel and prevents cavities. We use age-appropriate fluoride doses. Avoid giving children excessive fluoride toothpaste — a pea-sized amount is sufficient.

How to prevent cavities in kids?

Prevent cavities with: regular brushing (twice daily with fluoride toothpaste), daily flossing, limiting sugary snacks and drinks, 6-monthly dental checkups, fluoride application, and dental sealants on permanent molars. A healthy diet and good oral hygiene from an early age are key.

What if my child is scared of the dentist?

Dental anxiety in children is common and manageable. We use a gentle, child-friendly approach — explaining procedures in simple terms, using positive reinforcement, and keeping visits short and fun. Our staff is trained to make children feel safe and comfortable. Start early to build a positive dental experience.

Orthodontics

6 Questions
How long do braces take?

Braces treatment typically takes 12–24 months, depending on the complexity of your case. Minor alignment issues may be resolved in 6–12 months, while complex cases with severe misalignment may take 24+ months. Learn more about orthodontics.

Do braces hurt?

Braces themselves don’t hurt, but you may feel mild pressure and discomfort for 1–3 days after adjustments. This is normal as teeth are being moved. Over-the-counter pain medication and soft foods help manage any discomfort. Most patients adapt within a week.

Can adults get braces?

Absolutely! There’s no age limit for orthodontic treatment. Many adults choose braces or clear aligners to improve their smile and bite. In fact, 1 in 4 orthodontic patients is an adult. Clear aligners are especially popular among adults for their discreet appearance.

What are clear aligners?

Clear aligners are transparent, removable trays that gradually straighten teeth. They’re virtually invisible, can be removed for eating and brushing, and are more comfortable than traditional braces. Treatment time is similar to braces (6–18 months). Ideal for adults wanting discreet orthodontic treatment.

How much do braces cost?

Braces at The Crown start from ₹30,000 depending on the type (metal, ceramic, or clear aligners) and complexity. Clear aligners may cost more. View full pricing and EMI options from ₹2,500/month.

What happens after braces?

After braces are removed, you’ll wear a retainer to maintain the new tooth position. Retainers are crucial — without them, teeth can shift back. Initially, retainers are worn full-time, then gradually reduced to nighttime only. Retainer wear is a lifelong commitment for maintaining your straight smile.

Gum Care

6 Questions
Is scaling painful?

Scaling is generally not painful. You may feel mild vibration and cold sensation during the procedure. If you have sensitive teeth or inflamed gums, you may experience mild discomfort — we can use topical anesthetic gel for comfort. Learn more about gum care.

How often should I get cleaning?
every 6 months for most patients. If you have gum disease, heavy tartar buildup, or are a smoker, you may need cleaning every 3–4 months. Regular scaling and polishing prevent gum disease and keep your teeth healthy.

Can gum disease be cured?

Early-stage gum disease (gingivitis) is reversible with professional treatment and good home care. Advanced gum disease (periodontitis) can be controlled but not fully reversed — treatment stops progression and restores gum health. Early detection and treatment are key to preventing tooth loss.

Is bleeding gums normal?

Bleeding gums are not normal — they’re a sign of gum inflammation (gingivitis) or more advanced gum disease. Healthy gums don’t bleed during brushing or flossing. If your gums bleed regularly, please schedule a consultation — early treatment prevents progression to periodontitis.

What is deep cleaning?

Deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) is a treatment for gum disease that involves cleaning below the gumline to remove tartar and bacteria from root surfaces. It’s typically done in 2 visits with local anesthesia. Deep cleaning helps gums reattach to teeth and stops disease progression.

How to prevent gum disease?

Prevent gum disease with: brushing twice daily, daily flossing, 6-monthly professional cleanings, avoiding smoking, eating a balanced diet, and managing conditions like diabetes. Early signs (bleeding, swelling, bad breath) should be treated promptly — don’t wait until it hurts.

Oral Surgery

6 Questions
Is tooth extraction painful?

No. Extractions are performed under local anesthesia, so you won’t feel pain — only pressure. Mild discomfort for 2–3 days after is normal and manageable with prescribed medication. Our painless dentistry protocol ensures a comfortable experience. Learn more about oral surgery.

How long is recovery after extraction?

Initial healing takes 1–2 weeks. The first 24 hours require rest and soft foods. Swelling peaks at 48 hours and subsides over 3–5 days. Complete bone healing takes 2–3 months. Most people return to normal activities within 2–3 days. Follow post-extraction instructions carefully for smooth recovery.

What is dry socket?

Dry socket is a painful condition where the blood clot at the extraction site gets dislodged or dissolves, exposing bone and nerves. It causes severe pain 2–3 days after extraction. Prevent it by avoiding smoking, spitting, straws, and vigorous rinsing for 48 hours after extraction. If you suspect dry socket, contact us immediately.

When should wisdom teeth be removed?

Wisdom teeth should be removed if they’re impacted, causing pain, damaging adjacent teeth, causing infection, or if there’s insufficient space. Not all wisdom teeth need removal — if they’re fully erupted, healthy, and positioned correctly, they can be kept. We’ll evaluate your wisdom teeth with X-rays and advise accordingly.

How much does extraction cost?

Simple tooth extraction starts from ₹1,500. Surgical extraction (impacted wisdom teeth) starts from ₹5,000. Costs vary based on complexity. View full pricing and EMI options are available.

Can I eat after extraction?

Wait until the anesthesia wears off (2–4 hours) before eating to avoid biting your cheek. Start with soft, cool foods — yogurt, ice cream, mashed potatoes, soup (not too hot). Avoid hot, spicy, crunchy, and chewy foods for 3–4 days. Don’t use straws for 48 hours. Gradually return to normal diet as healing progresses.

Pick up the tooth by the crown (not the root), rinse gently with water, and try to reinsert it into the socket. If you can’t, store it in milk or your own saliva. Call us immediately and get to the clinic within 30 minutes for the best chance of saving the tooth. Don’t let the tooth dry out.

How to manage toothache before seeing the dentist?

Rinse with warm salt water, floss gently to remove trapped food, apply a cold compress to the cheek, and take over-the-counter pain medication. Never place aspirin directly on the tooth or gums. Call us immediately for a same-day emergency appointment — don’t wait for the pain to become unbearable.

Is a dental abscess dangerous?

Yes. A dental abscess is a bacterial infection that can spread to the face, neck, and in severe cases, throughout the body. Symptoms include swelling, pus, severe pain, and fever. This requires immediate treatment — don’t ignore it. Call us right away for same-day emergency care.
